As I watch my eldest son step into his senior year of high school, I find myself reflecting deeply on whether I've equipped him with everything he needs to uphold the foundation of Christ in his life. Have I modeled a life that embodies Christ in a way that will inspire him to continue following Jesus as Lord when he's out on his own?
There are many types of missions, but today, we don't mean the type you go on overseas unless that is your God-given journey. I am talking about your family mission (your family's overall goal). This could be for the year or life-long. It could be subject to change as you all grow and God guides you on your paths.
Life isn't always neat and tidy. Chaos can ensue, and mess can be made quicker than in the blink of an eye. But there are ways we can combat some of the craziness of daily life. Intentional Routines!
Family goals can be challenging as children grow up, hit different milestones, and change interests. If you have boys and girls, like I do, there is a whole other layer to add, as boys are more inclined to want to do the physical, messy work of building forts, playing in the mud, and building or smashing stuff, while girls tend to want to craft, have tea parties and dress up.
The culture of the world is the culture of the home if we aren't intentional in making a culture within our home.
